“I CAN’T TAKE THIS ANYMORE!”
“I AM GOING OUT ON MEDICAL LEAVE AND NOT COMING BACK BECAUSE I CANNOT TAKE IT ANYMORE!”
“NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO WORK IN THESE CONDITIONS, I AM NOT COMING BACK NEXT YEAR!”
“I DON’T HAVE ANOTHER JOB, BUT I AM NOT COMING BACK TO THIS SCHOOL!”
These are all quotes from John Rolfe teachers that plan to leave the district in June because of the chaos, violence, failure, and poor leadership that is rampant at John Rolfe Middle School.
Central office staff have confirmed the extremely poor academic, leadership, and learning conditions at John Rolfe. They have also confirmed that the superintendent is fully aware of the deteriorating situation, but refuses to change anything in an effort to save face and not admit that he made a huge mistake when he appointed Twice Illegally Appointed Armstrong.
While many say that Twice Illegally Appointed Armstrong would have left this past summer, if he could have gotten another job, others state that he is still interviewing in attempts to “get the hell out of Dodge” before the new superintendent comes aboard and gives him and many others the boot like Mediocre Morton should have a long time ago.
If it is this bad for the adults, how much worse is it for the students?
This situation continues to be so sad. Many who attend the school under this leadership don’t see what I see. They think that it is okay to work in conditions like this. They think because the leader let them come and go or do what they want in the classroom, it is good. Some say, “I won’t complaint because Armstrong is nice.” This is really a WOW place as Fred uses the term from time to time. It is WOW because of unbelievable activites that occur from day-to-day. It is like nothing that one can really describe because many people would not believe. Come see for yourself unannounced. Visit classrooms and walk the halls and check out the restrooms to get true, valuable pictures of frustrated educators and out of control pupils; better still check out the teacher’s lounge where people tell it all. If we could get transferred we would; we know that we would be chastised and made an example of if we did. I hate it here and others do as well. We grin and bear it because as we often say on the outside, “We need our jobs.” Maybe one day, someone with true integrity will see our plight and help us! Fred what in the world did you do to John Rolfe and why?
