Morton and His Cronies Need To Follow Christian’s Lead and Leave!

Will someone PLEASE share this with Fred Morton, John Montgomery, Diana WInston, Lamont Bagby, Linda McBride, Lisa Marshal, Marilyn Royal, Phil Jepson, Wendell Roberts, Bradford King, Andy Armstrong, John Rokenbrod, and the others that are acting in an unethical and unprofessional manner when it comes to their duties and the lives of our children….

Sheila Hill-Christian is right on point!

Sheila Hill-Christian’s complete statement:

“Recently I had the opportunity to share with a group of City employees the definition of leadership.  Leadership is “a process by which a person influences others to accomplish an objective and directs a team or organization in a way that makes it more cohesive and coherent.  Leaders carry out this process by applying their leadership attributes, such as beliefs, values, ethics, character, knowledge, and skills.”

In every position I have accepted I have given my all to live up to that definition.  When my ability to do so is compromised, I believe it is in my personal best interest, and the interest of taxpayers to move on.

I am going to take the opportunity in the next chapter of my life to give back more to the community.  I believe I can use all that I have learned over the years to coach emerging leaders and to work collaboratively on non-profit and private sector initiatives.

I would like to thank everyone for their support and to apologize to those I’ve disappointed.  Best wishes and Godspeed to all City employees.”

Federal Government Given Documents To Launch An Investigation Into Allegations Of Perjury By Morton

State and federal government agencies, as well as local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies have been provided with documentation from Montgomery County Public Schools and Henrico County Public Schools in relation to allegations that Fred Morton, Henrico County Public School’s superintendent, has perjured himself regarding statements made under oath during two hearings regarding Ms. Lucas.

Transcripts and audio recordings from the May 30, 2008 and June 11, 2008 hearings document statements made by Morton and his attorney, Bradford King, that are being submitted for review by federal and state officials as to their “truthfulness” in relation to the actual school board minutes from both counties.

There are indications that there are several significant inconsistencies which support Lucas’ initial claims of deception and fabrication on the part of school officials as early as November 2007.

Additional complaints will be filed with the Virgnia Bar as well regarding the unethical and deceptive practices of the attorneys involved in supporting Morton’s actions against Montgomery and Henrico’s children, families, and educators.

UGOTNERVE will keep you posted on the developments regarding this issue in an effort to obtain the truth, expose those who oppose it, and to empower those that have endured enormous mistreatment and abuse at the hands of Fred Morton and Bradford King, however, did not have the documentation or witnesses to support their claims.  At this point, the documentation supporting the claims of unethical, bias, and discriminatory behaviors are mounting quickly from all directions with no end in sight!

The tide continues to change as more and more information is revealed that they are attempting to conceal.

KEEP UP THE NERVE!

Even Alicia Keys Is Standing Up For Our Children!

Alicia Keys has put her money where her heart is.  GOOD FOR HER!  The more of us that stand up against corporate bullies, like Philip Morris, and educational bullies, like Fred Morton and Henrico County’s school board; the more effective we will be as advocates for our children’s health, education, and overall well-being.

ALICIA, WE ARE PROUD OF YOU!

Alicia Keys snubs out Philip Morris

Thursday, Jul 31, 2008 – 06:09 AM

JAKARTA, Indonesia — Philip Morris International has pulled down billboards and posters promoting an Alicia Keys concert today in Indonesia’s capital after the singer protested the cigarette company’s sponsorship.

The logo and slogans of A Mild cigarettes, produced by a Philip Morris affiliate, featured prominently in promotional materials for the concert.

The Washington-based Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids anti-smoking organization initially drew Keys’ attention to the company’s association with the show.

In a letter released by her record company, Sony BMG Music Entertainment, she said she had asked the company to stop the branding.

“I am an unyielding advocate for the well-being of children around the world and do not condone or endorse smoking,” she said.

Philip Morris International did not say whether it was demanding its money back, nor reveal how much it had paid to sponsor the event.

“Whether tobacco sponsorship of music events leads to youth smoking is a matter of serious debate,” the company said in a statement received today. “Having considered the facts in this specific instance, we have decided to withdraw all branding associated with this concert.”

More than 30 percent of Indonesia’s 220 million people smoke, making it the fifth-largest tobacco market in the world, according to the World Health Organization.

In the United States, Philip Morris USA and other major tobacco companies are prohibited from sponsorships of concerts, but there are no such regulations in Indonesia. The affiliate, HM Sampoerna, regularly sponsors sports events and pop concerts in Indonesia.

Philip Morris was not the sole sponsor of the concert, but the event is billed as an “A Mild Live Production,” suggesting it is a major backer.

With health campaigns taking a toll on cigarette sales in the West, tobacco companies are focusing marketing campaigns on developing countries like Indonesia, behind China, the United States, Russia and Japan.

NOW, if Prime Minister Olmert can resign due to the corruption that he has caused, why won’t Fred Morton?

High Level Official Resigns, To Preserve Integrity! Why Not In HCPS??!

We had to post this story regarding an African-American woman that not only “talk the talk” about professionalism, integrity, and ethics as a leader, but she is “walking the walking.”  In fact, she is “walking” away from a six-figure title and powerful position with Richmond City all because her “ability to lead was compromised.”

We agree, this woman is a class act and an endangered species…..a high level leader with integrity.  How is it that Richmond City with its corruption has one, but Henrico County Public Schools with its corruption can’t find one??????????

Richmond’s chief administrative officer resigns

Wednesday, Jul 30, 2008 – 04:34 PM Updated: 07:23 PM

BY DAVID RESS and WILL JONES

Times-Dispatch Staff Writers

Sheila Hill-Christian resigned unexpectedly this afternoon as Richmond’s chief administrative officer and in an e-mailed statement indicating that her ability to be a leader has been compromised.

The resignation is effective Friday, according to a statement from Mayor L. Douglas Wilder’s office.

She was hired in November to the top position in Wilder’s administration and won the backing of the council. With her broad background of public service — she had held top positions in the city and state governments, and was the head of the Virginia Lottery — Hill-Christian was regarded as a seasoned professional who would be able to help smooth the difficult relations between the mayor and council.

In her e-mailed statement, Hill-Christian discussed the definition of a leader and said: “In every position I have accepted I have given my all to live up to that definition. When my ability to do so is compromised, I believe it is in my personal best interest, and the interest of taxpayers, to move on.”

She added: “I am going to take the opportunity in the next chapter of my life to give back more to the community.”

Hill-Christian was not immediately available for comment after the e-mail was sent.

Wilder confirmed Hill-Christian’s resignation later in the afternoon.

“We well understand that, at the time she was hired in November 2007, I had not determined whether to seek re-election, and I greatly appreciate having her as part of our team. She did a fine job in a very challenging situation, and we wish her well with her future endeavors,” Wilder said in a written statement .

Wilder said Hill-Christian’s duties will be carried out by deputy chief administrative officers, adding that he has no plans to select a new chief in the remaining months of his term, which lasts through the end of the year.

Hill-Christian was Richmond’s second chief administrative officer and was paid an annual salary of $170,000.

Before heading the state lottery, Hill-Christian was executive director of the Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority.

Hill-Christian began her career working at a state juvenile correctional center and was named director of Virginia juvenile justice agency in the last year of Gov. George Allen’s administration.

She led the city’s juvenile justice department, was director of the city parks and recreation department and served as chief of staff and deputy city manager for former City Manager Calvin Jamison. She also served as chief operating officer at the GRTC Transit System.

Light’s Purpose Is To Shine For God

Our readers continue to encourage and motivate us as much as we do them.

Thank you Dr. Long for sharing God’s word with us!

“Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.”-Matthew 5:14-16

Who Will End The Culture of White Supremacy In Henrico County Public Schools?

We are extremely grateful to the whites and blacks that continue to fight the forces of white supremacy in all of its ugliness; which include injustice, lies, deceit, discrimination, oppression, and neglect of our children and their families.

The question continues to be asked, WHO WILL END THE CULTURE OF WHITE SUPREMACY THAT IS RAMPANT UNDER FRED MORTON AND THE SCHOOL BOARD’S LEADERSHIP THAT EXISTS WITHIN HENRICO COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS?

Don’t believe that Morton and the board members promote a culture of white supremacy?  You do not need to believe it for it to exist.

Thank you to our reader for sharing!

Official States That Racists’ Threat Posed “No True Harm”

UGOTNERVE received this article with the following reference:

We wanted to share this article from your supporters in Norfolk, VA.  This situation reminded us of a posting on this blog where Henrico County School staff refused to take action against a threat made to a teacher saying that there was no “true harm”.  Could these officials and this racists be related?

Judge refuses to penalize white supremacist

Associated Press – July 29, 2008 6:15 PM ET

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) – A white supremacist won’t be punished for interfering in a racial discrimination case by posting personal details about 1 of the lawyers on the Internet.

U.S. Magistrate Judge F. Bradford Stillman ruled that William White’s Internet postings didn’t pose a “true threat” of harm as defined by federal law. If White had been found guilty of contempt of court, he could have been fined or jailed.

The case began last year when five Virginia Beach apartment dwellers sued their landlord, accusing him of discrimination.

White, commander of the Roanoke-based American National Socialist Workers Party, sent a derogatory letter to the tenants as well as to a magazine he publishes. He then posted online the personal address and phone number of 1 of the lawyers for the tenants.

VCU Unethical Leaders Resign, Why Won’t HCPS’s?

VCU understands that there is no place in its learning community for unethical and immoral leaders. Why does Henrico’s County School Board house unethical leaders within its district without demanding that they resign.

We agree that a child’s life, which Morton and his crew have mistreated, are far more important than an ill-gotten degree.

Winston, Montgomery, Bagby, Marshall, and McBride…..STAND UP FOR OUR CHILDREN, CLEAN HOUSE, AND GET RID OF UNETHICAL LEADERS LIKE MORTON, ROYAL, JEPSON, ARMSTRONG, AND OTHERS!

VCU officials step down after probe into degree

Zinie Chen Sampson ASSOCIATED PRESS

RICHMOND | Several Virginia Commonwealth University administrators have resigned after an investigation into the improper awarding of a bachelor’s degree to Richmond’s former police chief.

University officials confirmed the resignations but aren’t linking them to the diploma investigation. One administrator was dean of the college that awarded the degree, and two others criticized how university officials conducted the probe.

Robert D. Holsworth is resigning as dean of the College of Humanities and Sciences. Mr. Holsworth, a noted political analyst, will continue as a political science professor and special assistant to the provost. Mr. Holsworth did not return messages Wednesday.

Michael D. Pratt is stepping down as interim director of the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs and director of the university’s Center for Public Policy. He will remain a professor of economics. A telephone message left Wednesday for Mr. Pratt was not returned.

S. Jon Steingass resigned as dean of the university’s University College, which awarded Chief Rodney D. Monroe the bachelor of arts degree in interdisciplinary studies in May 2007, despite his failure to meet degree requirements for transfer students. He is now police chief in Charlotte, N.C.

Mr. Steingass also was associate dean for undergraduate affairs for the College of Humanities and Sciences. The university said he has taken a job in another state.

Mr. Holsworth and Mr. Pratt were critical of the university’s investigation into the improper awarding of the degree to Chief Monroe. University officials said last month that Chief Monroe completed six credit hours, far short of a quarter of his total course work, but it allowed him to keep the degree. The university subsequently announced that it had disciplined those involved but declined to disclose names or details.

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools is conducting an independent investigation. The association is the accreditation group for 11 states, including Virginia.

The resignations come in light of two controversies, the Monroe degree and a task force looking into the implications of the university’s acceptance of research contracts from tobacco giant Philip Morris USA.

CCIE Is Heading To Mongtomery County, Virginia

The Community Council for Integrity In Education, CCIE, has been extended an invitation to visit with civil rights, faith-based, educational, community leaders, and parents of Montgomery County, Virginia.

It appears as though both Henrico and Montgomery have something in common, Fred Morton, Brad King, Office of Civil Rights complaints, discriminatory hiring practices, personal biases within central office officials, and other unethical issues that need to be addressed.

We will keep you posted as CCIE’s goal is to expand the class action lawsuit that is developing to include those within Montgomery County and beyond that are seeking the justice that they and their children have been deprived of for so many years.
